Homestead provides our dealers with a custom online ordering system that you will become proficient at manipulating to communicate with our shop. An office assistant/bookkeeper works closely with our CFO in maintaining accurate bookkeeping records. Communication is key. To be an office assistant/bookkeeper you must be a “people person”, and be detail-oriented. Being a self-starter is also important. You will always be learning and growing here at Homestead.

Homestead Cabinets is hiring for an Office Assistant/Bookkeeper position. Homestead represents a refreshing, new way of thinking and doing business. We work hard to produce high-quality, state-of-the-art custom cabinetry. We are looking for employees who would like to become skilled craftsmen. Homestead is a company that values its employees and their welfare. Our motto is "We Care," and we emphasize the growth of the individual as well as the company as a whole. The hours for this shift would be 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Occasional overtime is required. Starting wage is $16.00/hour+ depending on experience.

Requirements

Knowledge and experience with Quickbooks preferred
Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and/or Google Drive Sheets
Excellent customer service skills
Attention to detail
Must be a self-starter
Good listening skills
Respect for everyone you come in contact with
Ability to speak and write in English

Responsibilities 

Quickbooks accounts payable and receivable
Answer phones and transfer calls to project managers
Greet visitors as they come in the office
Work in a close team environment.
Communicate effectively with customers and the Homestead shop to ensure the best form of success.
Process invoices, bills, and payments Completely, Accurately, and Timely (CAT)
Learn and understand various wood types and cabinet parts
Increase knowledge of vendor products
Help engineer and other job confirmation employees with various office tasks
Perform various office errands
