Position Overview

Homestead Cabinet & Furniture is looking for an organized, personable, and proactive Office Assistant to fill a dual-role position at the heart of our company. This role splits evenly between two key areas: serving as the professional front-facing presence of our office — including executive and administrative support — and providing hands-on assistance to our samples department. The ideal candidate is comfortable shifting between a polished front-desk environment and a more physical, task-oriented support role throughout the day.

Role 1: Receptionist & Executive Assistant (~50%)

Reception & Front Desk

  • Answer and direct incoming phone calls in a professional, friendly manner
  • Greet and assist visitors, vendors, and guests
  • Manage incoming and outgoing mail and packages
  • Maintain a clean, welcoming front office and reception area
  • Serve as the first point of contact for general inquiries — in person and by phone

Executive & Administrative Support

  • Provide direct administrative support to the Operations Manager and company leadership
  • Draft, proofread, and send professional correspondence on behalf of leadership
  • Prepare agendas, materials, and notes for meetings
  • Manage scheduling and coordinate calendars across departments
  • Handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion
  • Assist with administrative projects as directed

Hiring & Recruiting Coordination

  • Post open positions to job boards (Indeed, LinkedIn, KSL, etc.)
  • Track applicants and maintain organized candidate records
  • Schedule interviews and coordinate logistics between candidates and hiring managers
  • Send confirmations and follow-up communications to candidates
  • Support onboarding, scheduling, and paperwork coordination as needed

Role 2: Samples Support (~50%)

Labeling & Shipping Assistance

  • Apply labels to sample doors and products accurately and efficiently
  • Assist with preparing outbound sample shipments — packaging, labeling, and carrier coordination
  • Receive and log incoming sample deliveries; route packages to the appropriate team
  • Coordinate with the samples team on outgoing order deadlines and carrier pickups

Sample Library & Organization

  • Assist with putting away samples after jobs are produced
  • Help keep the sample library clean and organized
  • Support quality checks, photographing, and logging of outbound samples as needed
  • Provide general assistance to the samples team as priorities shift day to day

Qualifications

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and/or Google Workspace
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Professional phone presence and strong interpersonal skills
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks and shifting priorities
  • Comfortable with physical tasks, including labeling, packaging, and light lifting
  • Reliable, punctual, self-motivated, and team-oriented
  • Able to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion

Preferred

  • Prior experience in a receptionist, administrative, or executive assistant role
  • Experience coordinating hiring or interview scheduling
  • Familiarity with job posting platforms (Indeed, LinkedIn, etc.)
  • Experience in a manufacturing, cabinetry, or production environment a plus
